During the Covid-19 Lockdown our Families Overcoming Addiction group meetings are temporarily on hold.
We understand what a stressful time this is while a loved one is living in addiction.
If you would like to talk to someone about this, we are here for you with telephone support. Just text 027 3350 391 and Sue will get back to you to arrange a suitable time. This is a free service and you can meet Sue on our “About Us” page.
Our group and individual face to face meetings will resume was soon as possible.
Look after yourselves and remember our well-being is all about connection.
Welcome to Families Overcoming Addiction. We hope you find some useful information, support and comfort here.
- Do you have a loved one who has a drug and/or alcohol problem?
- Does their substance use impact negatively on family life?
- Have you tried everything but nothing seems to help?
- Are you frustrated? Angry? Hurt? Afraid?
Families Overcoming Addiction can help.
We are based in New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand/Aotearoa. We meet weekly on a Monday from 6pm to 8:30pm to share coping strategies, communication skills, ideas and support which you may find helpful.
We are a group of parents, spouses, siblings, friends, and we all have someone we care about who has a problem with drugs and/or alcohol. We operate on a first-name basis, respecting your privacy and confidentiality. We provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where we all relate to the struggles and challenges of loving a person who has an addiction.
If your organisation would like to learn more about Families Overcoming Addiction we can come to you and deliver a presentation to your staff. We will outline what, when, where, how and who our service is about and provide resources, contact details and referral pathways.
